As a young man, my Father taught me that when making a purchase, buy quality. He also added that buying it at a good rate would be preferable.
I have been working in the Home Remodeling industry most of my adult life. The challenge has always been “How do I create lasting quality work at a rate that the consumer can afford?” Does this mean “at a cheap rate”….No. Too often I encounter clients that made a choice based on price alone and have regrets. Often this is due to the high cost of working with premium remodeling companies. The big outfits have huge overheads and they have very specific numbers that must be met to stay afloat.
My whole idea behind creating Balance Remodeling is to blend quality along with affordability. As your local contractor, my hope is to be your trusted adviser, providing you with over 40 yrs of experience, and a long track record of quality projects. I was raised in a construction family. My step-father had his own Framing Carpenter business, and much of his family were carpenters. I was working on job sites with Rick by the time I was 13 years old and he taught me how to be accountable, be honest, and do work that our family could be proud of. By the time I reached my mid 20’s I was running a crew framing new homes in large developments. In an effort to expand and grow, I worked in the residential steel business, helping manage teams and producing steel required for local builders.
In the mid 90’s I became a licensed MHIC contractor and began a remodeling business that would have a long run of success for over 15 yrs. The business focused on Design & Build projects in the Montgomery County area. In the following years I worked with a very large Remodeling company in the Howard County area helping the business double and serving many customers and their remodeling needs.
Being an entrepreneur at heart, I decided to return to my Design Build roots and launch a new company with a desire to bring the highest quality product combined with fair and affordable pricing to my clients. Specializing in Kitchens, Baths, Basements and Additions, I bring my 40+ years of expertise to each and every project, managing all work to make certain it meets your expectations. After so many years in the industry, I have created a team of experts and specialists who I trust to help make my clients home remodeling dreams come true.
Through the years I have also become a Certified Life Coach, working and consulting with other small contractors helping to create successful business platforms and leading full rewarding lives.
Personally, I have many interests including spending time with family, cooking on my grill and smoker in my backyard, working on my personal 1950’s home here in Carroll County and most often, when I am not around, I am out in the piney forest, backpacking thru the woods!
Besides learning new and innovative methods to employ in my business, I enjoy challenging myself in other ways…this was at the famous McAfee Knob in southern Virginia…
